"Clear is Kind", Offerings, June Holidays

Clear is Kind:

Clarity is one of the most overlooked forms of support we can offer our teams. 🌱
Clear systems, expectations, communication, and processes are actually acts of care.
One of the most powerful things a leader can clarify this month is what “done" actually means. Many workplaces assume everyone interprets expectations the same way.
They don't.
For many neurodivergent employees, vague expectations can create unnecessary cognitive load. Instead of focusing on the work itself, they may spend valuable energy trying to decode what was actually meant.

Clarifying "done" can look like stating:

  • What is the deliverable?
  • When is it due?
  • What level of detail is expected?
  • Who needs to review it?
  • What does success look like?

For example, instead of:
"Can you put together a proposal?"
Try: "Please create a three-page proposal that includes pricing, timeline, and recommendations. I'd like a draft by Thursday at noon so we can review it together before sending it to the client on Friday."

The result is not just better support for neurodivergent employees. Everyone benefits. Clear expectations reduce stress, prevent misunderstandings, improve accountability, and create a workplace where people can spend less time guessing and more time contributing.

A simple question every leader can ask this month:
"If someone were hearing this assignment for the first time, would they know exactly what success looks like?"
Because clarity isn't micromanagement.
It's one of the most practical forms of inclusion.

Here’s to an inclusive summer! 🌿
