Weaving the threads

When I started Operate Well, my stated goal was to help organizations become efficient and effective. I was fresh out of a manufacturing job, ready to put my skills to good use for small businesses.

A couple of years later, I realized that I needed more knowledge about the human aspects of effective organizations: behavior, culture, design, leadership, and change. I found Organizational Development, a field that addressed all these and then some! A field that blends social justice with organizational effectiveness – my sweet spot.

With a master's in OD and a new perspective on helping organizations, Operate Well’s mission grew to support mission-driven organizations in becoming more effective with a focus on people, process, and culture.

This last year, with a desire to “niche down” and a fire in my gut for an emerging topic, the mission evolved again this last year to focus on helping organizations become more neuroinclusive – a topic of deep interest to me because it is linked to my personal experience.

This season, Operate Well will be evolving in a direction that pulls on all threads– operational effectiveness, organizational development, and neuroinclusion– with the understanding that they are all connected.

The thing is, neuroinclusive organizations are more effective and more just organizations. They are organizations that have thoughtfully designed their operations in order to support human coherence, collaboration, and growth. And these are crucial for all groups of people who want to operate well.

I’m excited to weave these threads and provide value to clients who want to build operations that benefit people, the organization, and society.
